Hey, this week happened something that was the worst experience for my whole Asia trip until now.
As you probably heard there was a terror attack in Jakarta on 14 January. It happened just before I wanted to go out of home to do a casting, and with that made me stay in the flat. My friends wrote me messages that I should better stay, as it happened in the city center and the terrorists target were mostly the tourists and I lived quite close to the center.
Multiple explosions and gunfire were reported near the Sarinahshopping mall at the intersection of Jalan Kyai Haji Wahid Hasyim and Jalan MH Thamrin. One blast went off in a Starbucks cafe and one went off at a police post outside the mall. The attack occurred near a United Nations (UN) information center, as well as luxury hotels and foreign embassies, including France's. At least eight people—four attackers and four civilians (three Indonesians and an Algerian-Canadian)—were killed, and 23 others were injured due to the attack. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility.Because of that attack most of the people stayed at home for a few days. As our agency reminded us from day to day again, that we should stay at home due to actual danger, our fear grew and grew. For such an active person as me with, as I often call it - a light type of claustrophobia, it was very hard to stay at home, but it was needed indeed.
Nevertheless, the Indonesian seemed to be over it pretty fast, they didn't show a lot of fear in public, posting selfies in front of the attack with a background of the dead people etc. And so I also attend a dinner after 2 days that was far away from the center, tourist attractions and public places. The day after my local friends, a few models from other agencies and I decided to escape from the terror and go to the nature of Indonesia, up the mountains to a house that belongs a friend of them for 2 nights. The place is called Bogor and it's 2-3 hours away from Jakarta. The first night we arrived, had a few drinks and chilled breathing in the fresh cool air. The day after we had a nice breakfast close to the pool. We decided to go for a hike up the mountians where we walked throughout the jungle up and down for 8 kilometers. We had beautiful views on the mountains and also reached a huge waterfall that was surrounded by a very cold air.
As usually I also had a few jobs such as a good men magazine called Esquire, that I did together with one of the guys of my agency, the sexy fatich. We have good pictures and had lots 1of fun on set.
