Hi and welcome to my last and probably the best week in Bangkok! It started perfectly with my job for in2it cosmetics print compagne. Every model dreams to work for a job like this. I was welcomed woth a cofee and breakfast of toast with eggs and orange juice, everyone on the set could speak english, and of course as it is was for cosmetics, the make up and hair stylists were extremely good, so I felt very comfortable and didnt worry to much about my hair being broken of heat or my skin being ruined because of unclean brushes. We did 4 different styles of eyebrows, eyeliner and highlighter. So before they started to play with the eyeliner and draw hearts under my eyes it stayed very natural and I am looking forward to be seen in stores and on reclams in shopping malls. Its a pity that I didnt have the job a few more weeks ago so that I could check it out on my own. Nevertheless, I was very tired at the end because we shooted over 9 hours, so I made a quite evening with a red wine at home and relaxed with a book.
Finding out that the next day is a free day for me and I could not have any urgent casting as it was my last week I had the spontaneous idea to go to the beach. I was the only one with a free day and I didnt care at all. I judt decided to run away, take the earliest bus to Pattaya and a quick fairy to the closest island called Kho Larn. I have to say that I was very happy to be alone for one day. It was so good to breathe in the smell of the sea and the seafood such as drnking fresh coconut and pineapple cocktails lying down on the white sandy beach with a book watching the silky calm water and the sunset. After the sun went down I took the last boat back to Pattaya and found a nice place for dinner at the famous walking street, which is super crazy filled with people oferrng you to watch the ping pong show or striptese such as thai boxing and more. The steeet is full of tourists, often they are elder white man with sexy young thai girls on their hand. However, between all those drunk and crazy things I found a perfect quite seafood restaurant at the seaside with a nice view and ate a soup with coconut milk mushrooms and shrimps which was amazing. After that, aI walked a bit around and took the last bus back to Bangkok and slept the whole way.
Wednesday was not too busy as well. I got the information that the working viaa for Indonesia is ready so I had to go to the agency take my passport and then to the embassy to order the stamp. I got a pick up appointement 5 days later. Next day we were just chilling at the spa and got an invitation for a dinner afterwards where we met new people and gad a few drinks with them at a sky bar. They asked us to come to a pool party the day after and so on. We just spent time together eating and relaxing and partying in the night. On saturday we arrived home around 5 in the morning and woke up at 6 to catch an early bus to the beach again. My roommate and her slovakian friend came with me and we enjoyed it a lot. Her friend left the same day but we both stayed in Pattaya after having a nice seafood dinner at the seaside again. Sunday was her birthday so we celebrated it perfectly: my thai friends picked us up in Pattaya and took us to another paradise island which ia more in the south of thailand but still not that far called Kho Samed. Arriving there in midday we went swimmmig immediately and couldn't stand watching the parachutes without trying it out as well. So guess what we did..why flew there in the hot wind above all the mountains having the best view on the wide sea getting a perfect sunbath and breathing in the fresh air. Feeling the real freedom. Being in this trance we almost missed our booked boat trip around the island. But we made it and it was wonderdul. We stoped three times. Two times for smorkeling. Rhe sea was calm and warm and felt like silk. It was so transparent and even though it was evening we could see all the colorful corals and fishes inside. The third time we stopped for watching the sunset. I can not even describe how beautiful this was...you could just stand there and watch it like a movie. But this was much better than a movie. I felt renewed after that, full of new energy. We came back relaxed, full of impressions but hungry. We all took showers and dressed up for dinner. Of course we went for some fresh seafood. We ate oysters, lobster, shrimps and fish and of course had some rice with octopus and spices as well. Coplestely satisfied only one thing was missing: a drink. We went to a living bar with a huge fire show by young boys and drank huge cocktails with long staws and listened to some live music and the sea..we enjoyed the evening and got tipsy what brought us to some beach club where we had more drinks and danced a nit until we got enough of one place, then we walked around and landed in another club where we had no possobility to think of drinks because we kind of met the whole world inside of there. Americans, Australians, Indians, Chinese, Europeans..and closer to the morning we found us in our own beach club belonging to our hotel..I left the place earlier as my friends thought they still didnt have enough drinks. I wanted to wake up before breakfast to swim a last time in the wonderful sea, and getting very hungry. Thats exactly what I did. The bad thing in this short holiday was that it was too short. And sitting on the fairy going away from the island was too sad. So sad, that we started to dream of icecream on the fairy to get back the happiness harmons but they didnt have it so we found some near to the pier when we arrived. The perfect one out of coconut topped with peanuts and sticky rice. Being satisfied again we made our wax back to Bangkok. This time I wouldnt stay any longer. After arriving home I directly started to sort my stuff and pack my suitcase. It would be my last day in this wonderful country and the next destination was waiting for me already. I was pretty fast and even managed it to go for a last dinner with some friends which was a japanese one this time. Thw restaurant was obviously the best one in town called Yamazoto and was located on a roof top top where they certainly had a nive bar with a view. So, after ejnoying the goodies out of fresh salmon and tuna sashimi such as the eel and miso soup and several kinds of sushi, we went to have some interesting cocktails and desserts at the bar where I took a last deep sip of beautiful shining Bangkok. As if it wouldn be a nice ending already, we were heading to another bar which had no name and was not known for most of the tourists as it is a secret anonymous bar where they even dont have a menu, you they give you these surprise drinks mixxed especially out of your favourite tastes. It was quite mysterious in there, everything colored black, a real bull skim on the floor and dead spiders and butterflies on the wall. I have to say that I had the perfect cocktail in my taste and we all really enjoyed the last hours. The next day was a bit busy for me. I had paperstuff to do to for some working permition in Indonesia so I went to do Passport photos and copies of plane tickets such as picking up my passport with the ready visa stamp from the embassy. However I could not leave having my last thai massage in bkk and eating my last mango with brown sticky rice. Back at home I finished packing the last few things such as cosmetics, took a shower and got ready for my pick up. I took a last picture with my model book of the agency and left it there.
Well, all in all I have to say that I am really really happy in the end that the coincidence brought me to Thailand for a second time. I enjoyed it completely different and spent my time in a variety of ways over there. Going to the next country in Asia where I didnt really know what expects me there, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I heard a few bad things such as about bad traffic and that I can not walk a lot as they have no real walking ways there. As I am an explorer by feed and love to walk and see everything as close as possible to me, I was quite afraid I would miss Bangkok too much. But on the other hand, I felt like I was in Bangkok for the perfect amount of time and exhausted it to the fullest. I had the best last week and could not dream of something better. Therefore, I can safely say that I was ready. I was ready and prepared to tackle a new journey and see Jakarta with my own eyes, build my own opinion of it and see what kind of people I meet this time, because if you ask me, the people you meet and spend time with, work with, explore new places with, are the most important factor. They make a lot of your trips.
So here I go Jakarta! I am coming! I am ready for you and looking forward to see you as a historical city and to see the people whose culture is influenced by so many other cultures and religions. I am exited.
