Jakarta 2015 - WEEK 4

Happy 2016
Hello next week and hello next Island. What a wonderful place to start the New Year. On the 31st of December my mom and me were moving from the island Gili Meno to Bali. We booked a hotel at the Seminyak beach that is a quite famous area concerning restaurants bars clubs and beautiful sunsets. The way there was not that easy. We had to change 2 boats and transfer in Gili Trawangan, another small island that is more touristic and famous for the young tourists to party. We had two huge suitcases that we thrown from the boat to the island and again on the boat together with a hundret other backpacks and luggage. We are very happy that nothing inside of the suitcase broke, got wet or suffered from a shake. Arriving in Bali we were picked up by a van that brought us to Seminyak centre where we took a taxi to our hotel which were 10mins by feet away from the beach. We quickly packed out the most important stuff and dressed up for dinner. As it was the New Years Eve we wanted to have a special dinner and found a fantastic place just in front of the sea with a perfect view on the beautiful sunset. We ordered a fresh fish with some salads and side dishes, fresh fruity cocktails and selection of delicious tropical fruits icecream. It was amaaazing and we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw that sunset while eating this incredible tasty dinner. We cheered to our good last year and remembered some things before we left to dress up even nicer for the nye party in a huge beach club called Potato Head. It is famouse for its dummer festivals of different kinds of music. This time it was an electronic festival with nice drinks and people from all over the world dressed up colorful but not very festive what was the difference to us. We enjoyed a few cocktails and danced to the music. However, we decided to quit the event as soon as possible as we were sad not to see any of the fireworks outside and not to hear any sound of the ocean, as the club had a bound all around due to the festival. We went back to out hotel changed to bikinis and light beach dresses, grabbed our bottle of champagne and glasses and ran to the beach. We arrived there 20 minues to 12 and saw a huuuge crowd of local people, I assume there were millions of Indonesians all united with family and friends and a great competition of marvellous wonderful fireworks. Everyone was celebrating but still not to loud, having their own drinks and food sitting on towels or banches, talking...it was a magical atmosphere. We bought a coconut as we read that this nye has to be celebrated with a lot of colors and fruits and ideally in a warm place. At 00.00 o'clock everyone was screaming hugging each other and me and my lovely mom we clinked our glasses or a new beggining and chared our happiness. Our feelings were overwhelmed watching and hearing the ocean, the incredible hight waves and watching and hearing the fireworks left and right side from us and all over the whole beach up to the mountains. Happy New year and I wish you all the best, luck, success and helth for 2016!
We went home and talked with my sister on the phone and I called my boyfriend  and texted a few more friends before we fell aspeep around 4am. We slept until 11 but didn't stay in the room for a long time as we were huungry like crazy so we wanted to find just something to eat without really caring what and accidently found an organic cafe that was in a nice little corner inside of some palms and trees with a various menu of sweets like granola and fruits and salty like different styles of eggs and burritos. From there in we had breakfast there every day.
The next day we were just enjoying our time on the beach getting tanned, walking around the city, having good food and jumping in the waves. There was a male model who I know from Jakarta in Bali too and we met up for a drink in a cozy beach bar in Legian and after that just cruised around Bali with his motorbike what was a great feeling in the wind and empty steets..
On our prelast day I probably ate something wrong. After jumping in the waves in The end of the day I suddenly felt very sick. We drove home directly after watching the sunset where I got into stomach convulsions and couldn't stand up at all. My mom feed me with coconuts and helthy teas but it all just came out of my body. However, the next day I luckily felt good again and we could take part in our booked trip around Bali. We went around the island, saw beautiful temples, visited an old Balinese house and the production place of Kopi Luwak, the most expansive coffee in the world. Its produced from the coffee beans which have been digested by a certain Indonesian cat-like called palm civet or also civet cat. The feces of this cat will be collected, finished and sold as kopi luwak. We tryied all the coffee and tea that is produced there and even both a 50gram package at home. Next stop was the monkey forest in Ubud. We were in the middle of an oasis full of one kind of monkeys in different ages. The cutest were the very small babies that were running after their mother all the time, who searched for bananas thar visitors brought inside to feed them. It was a very nice appearance and so interesting to see how similar they are to us.
After that our driver brought us to the centre of Ubud where we could walk around an art and souvenir market and buy some nice backpacks or silk dresses and scarfs. The last stop and the best end was Tanah Lot. It was a place close by the ocean where a temple was seperated from the land. You can only walk over when it's low tide and the cozy cove sorrounded by rocks and little beaches was perfect to watch the sunset at. We found a nice restaurant a bit higher up the mountains to have some hot soups and salads. The view was a dream. Finishing the dinner we went to see a traditional Balinese dance called Kecak. Its very spiritual and a bit scaryfying as they play with fire and make strange sounds, but I liked to watched it hearing the waves in the background and looking at those funny costumes and trying to understand what's the story behind it. After the dance we made our way back home. It was raining so we got the idea to go to the spa before getting home. Looking forward to the Balinese massage we asked the driver to stop at a good place to buy a traditional sweet pancake called martabak. It has different flavours such as chocolate, sweet milk, but also meat. We took one with cheese and peanuts and it was hot and tasty. We could enjoy our massage perfectly. We both needed to relax with oils and cucumbers on the eyes and a nice music in the background. Arriving home we finished our last bottle of wine with some dragonfruit and nuts and had a deep early sleep, as we planned to stand up early to enjoy our last hours at the beach before going back to Jakarta. Jumping in the waves for a last time and catching the sun by drinking those cocktails with ice cream from nye again we said bye to this wonderful place that we hopefully will see again soon.
Brian and his friend picked us up from the airport and as my mom had to change her gate very quickly she was very nervous. But the guys calmed us down and droped her of far too early, so we even coult sit down at a cafe over there and try some of the white coffee. What comes next is very sad. I had to say bye to my mom and we cryed! I was really really happy to have been with her and we had a great time..I know that I will be back home soon but I didnt want her to leave at all. I miss her already now! My best friend, sister, soulmate whatever, the most important and close person in my life. I love you and miss you!
Letting her go we went to a sushi restaurant but i ate only soup and tried a cucumber sushi as my stomach was still not recovered and I decided to let out the fish for a few days and eat more veggies.
The next day was not to relax anymore. I had a job for a catalog. It was for the brand Sophie Martin and I really liked the place and client and I worked together with another nice girl, but I still couldnt come over my mom who I missed like crazy realising I cant go to the beach anymore. It was rainy and grey outside and I Even started to miss Germany that has the clean and healthy food everywhere while I had to search for good places or cook by muyself here. However, I was very happy to have a job, because otherwise I wouldn't know what to do. In Bali I could do so many things, but here I can't even just go out of the appetement and walk, because there are no places to walk around. Whatever, happily I had another job the next day which was very interesting. I worked for a muslim cosmetic catalog that produces all the products for make up and we shooted some macara and eyeliner such as lipsticks but all wearing a hijab and all clothes were very covering and tight. I don't know how to explain my feeling wearing this. I do accept the peoole following their religion, what I don't do, as I am an atheist but I can't comprehend how girls can wear this of their own accord. For me, the sweaters were to high and I had the neccesity to tear down the clothes and all those scarces from my head as I had a closed and heavy and unfree feeling. Nevertheless, I felt beautiful in those. The brand called Zoya has very beautiful hijabs and clothes also, and my make up was very strong and too much for me but I liked how the pictures looked in the end so I am glad I gained this experience once :)
That was my last day of the week!
I think the next week will be quieter as I do this detox diet out of veggies and fruits and don't want to go out a lot and wanna rest to the end to get fit for more and more jobs here.
Thanks for reading such a looong story.
Cheers!
