Healthy, adventurous and successful. This words can describe my last days. As I felt sick, had a bad throat hurting last week I stayed at home in the evenings and didn't go out until tuesday. So you can actually count whole 4 nights! Not much but it helped me haha. I can't stay in bed knowing that everyone is having a nice dinner or cocktails and a little party. But I felt better and also looked fresher on castings and managed to get more jobs for the end of the week. Moreover my roomate and me explored the french consession in Shanghai but as there are so many "old french streets" we just walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere of the music, cafes and bars there. It's a pity that I couldn't bahave like a model and had tree almond croissants all from different bakeries which were fresh warm and delicious. Oh no it's not a pity.. I never regret something I was happy with..especially food.
On Wednesday one of my roommates had birthday and we had a very nice celebration. She turned 21 and we went to a restaurant to drink wine, listening to music and eating seafood pastas until we went to our favourite club the mint where we got her a surprise with a birthday cake and congratulations to her name on the wall. The night was amazing and I even didn't feel to tired on castings after only 4 hours of sleep. Castings...what can I say..it's still the same..long ways which make me too sad when the client does not choose me and I feel like it was a waste of time. But never mind I hope I will get more jobs next week.
What makes me feel sad is that a friend that stayed here with me from the beginning left on friday. I cannot imagine that she were here for 2 months and now will continue her old 14-year old girl school life in Belarus. I wish a lot of luck to her and hope to see her in a few years on the New York Runway!
Friday..my first catalog job finally. The client was just amazing. Everything was super professional, from the make up to the stylist and photographer. Everyone was so nice to me and I was totally motivated for the job. It should be an underwear catalog but it was for nightwear actually. After the 20th gown I got pretty tired but then the robes followed and I woke up again haha. They gave me a nice lunch out of rice and vegetables with mango milk. I got coffee and tea with nice music the whole day. That made the 10 hour job of 65 cloth pieces with same posing in high heels less hard. I mean just imagine you have that yellow silk dress with laces in 5 different varieties and every variety in 5 more colors. Nevertheless, I'm still in touch with the client and the assistants for getting the retouched photos and look forward to them. I slept well that night and was fresh for my next job - a presentation for furniture in evening dresses out of the fabrics of the company - Anstoez.
Sounds strange but it was a comfortable job of two hours in a boutique building at the bund with an interesting styling and friendly people. We even had a few wine glasses while talking with the guests at the presentation and listening to business talks..As the boss of the compony is a german guy, I could talk even better and more. Some of his Taiwanese colleges joined our conversation and it ended up in me being invited at their team dinner which was just amazing. It was one of the very high class as you can imagine a Chinese restaurant at the bund...they served red wine all the time and small delicious meals from seafood to beef and dumplings. Not to forget the salad and fish soup at the beginning and a coconut milk-fruit dessert in the end. This was the perfect end of a nice job and an ideal start in the nightlife of Shanghai having a lot of fun with guys and girls from my agency until 5 am in the morning...

On the whole, I really can't complain about the last week except that I had not much time to walk around, enjoy the weather and explore something. But at the moment I can safely say that I will have the chance to walk around a lot as I have more than one month left here and I am looking forward to it with a positive attitude!
