ni hao, it's nika on tour: 2014-07-06

Last year in summer I decided to travel to Asia again. I wanted to travel in a new country, which is not only good for night life but also for holiday, because I had to go back to school after the trip. I heard a lot of Bangkok - a metropole with paradise islands around. I knew a few backpackers who travelled the country from north to south and had their time of their lives. And this is how I feld myself there. Having my time. It was undescribable. I spend the first week with my mother and sister in Cha-am, a little city on the coast, 2 hours away from Bangkok. The beach was not ideal to walk and lye on it and the sea was to flat to swim in it. But our hotel which was exceedingly cheap, was so good that it helped us to have the perfect first days in this peaceful place. We did a trip with elephants (which made me cry, because the poor animals are treated badly, but anyway I was the happiest person on such a big dude and cuddled with it the whole trip). I never ate such good asian food before. I never got such a good massage before. I felt completely newborn. Coming to Bangkok we arrived at the model agency Elite Thailand and were welcomed warmly by the bookers and managers but also by the few girls who were in the building. My sister and me, we had a very great time in the big city and met other people from all over the world. Unfortunately we had not been booking a lot of work there. I had 4 fashion shows and one test shoot for my portfolio, but for one moth stay it was surprising less. Our mother stayed on an island called Ko Samui, which is in the very south of Thailand. As we both had not much to do, we asked the boss of the agency to travel to our mother for the long weekend. Happily he agreed and we bought tickets for night trains which took 12 hours to the isle. It was already an adventure to buy the tickets, because we couldn't find the railway station first. First, the lady at the counter told us that we have to take the bus for 2 hours, than the train and than a fairy, but still it would not bring us to the hotel, so we had to make clear that someone picks us up, becuase a tuc-tuc (a small open car used as taxis in Thailand) would be to expensive. As we heard all these and bought the last two night tickets which wer 3 times more expensive from the normal ones, we could not imagine that we ever would arrive to this isle and we began to regret that we started this complicated trip. However, arriving in Ko Samui we could not believe our eyes! It was as if we are dreaming. We were sure we did. This was the paradise on earth for sure. The water is clear, the sandy beaches are light, the sun is shining, but it's not dry, the people are threating you as if you were there queen. We lived in a small bungalow, where my mom had two more beds left. We had breakfast at sunrise and dinner at sunset. This were some of the best days of all holiday places I've been to. We also did a trip to the waterfalls and to another island called Ko Tao which was even more paradise-like and did snorkeling there. We were so happy that we travelled so much to get there. We even bought a normal ticket back and didn't sleep for a minute because we heard every wheel of the train on the tracks and we didn't care at all.

All in all, I can say that Thailand is a wonderful free country, whose name also comes from the word "Thai" - "freedom". It is truly a fairy-tale kingdom where vacation is royal, too. Coral reefs, Buddhist temples, exotic plants, massage, unlimited shopping and nightlife...I think holidays in Thailand are so varied that everyone will find something of their own.
