Nevertheless, I had a great forth month too and would like to share most of the pictures with you. I loved the beginning as my favourite girl, soulmate, best friend, second half my lovely SISTER visited me for 2 weeks here and partly with my Dad, who was in Israel for the first time. You can reread our travel experiences in my former post. The last day of my dad was very relaxing, we drove up to the Kineret (
Sea of Genazareth) together with my uncle who has a car and did a picnic there and just swam in the cooling sweet water. My father flew back home and me and Nastja were just enjoying her last week here in Tel Aviv. We went out for some events, drove a bit more north to some better beaches than the Tel Avivans and walked around the city and the old town having coffees and snacks at local places that are already familiar to me. I really felt like showing her wher I live now, not were I am shortly at. After she left, what was very sad for me, even though we really had a completely filled time, filled with emotions, adventures and charing thoughts, opinions, friends, laughs, didnt happen a lot for a couple of days. At the end of the week me and a friend decided to go to the southest city of Israel, at the border to Egypt, called
Eilat. Its very hot and dry there, but the underwater world is beautiful. As I have a diving license, I did one dive 22 Meters deep and saw some beautiful corals and fishes such as sea hedgehogs. I really have missed it and enjoyed it a lot. we enjoyed the calm and spa atmosphere with the fish restaurants and the touristic markets on the beach promenade where we walked around a lot. After Eilat, I had some regular relaxing working days before I travelled with my princess roommate as she left at the end of the month. We did a beautiful Tel Aviv day through the best quarters and their art and ancient markets, swam at the sea a bit and visited a fantastic yoga lesson at the seaside in the Charles Clore Park that lasts for about 90 minutes and ends with a meditation where the sun sets until its not seen anymore. Its so calming and streching and relieving for the whole body and I felt that I really sort of need it besides working and travelling sometimes. I will go there regulary now its Tuesday and Sunday every week and the best part in it is, that the girl named Kelly is doing it for free and the students just bring something what they think it could cost. Her lessons are super good and Im really happy that I found out about this lesson. The day after me and my roomie Lea we travelled down to the Nature Reserve
En Gedi, which I visited with my mom in May already, so reread it there, and the Dead Sea, as she has never been there and its a must see in Israel, and I havent been there for a long time and wanted to go there before I leave anyways, but in August it would be way too hot for it. Well we really felt we were in the desert because of the dry hot and the deadsea was literally hot like a jacuzzy but very softening the skin and relaxing. We found a very quite public beach at En Boqek close to the David Hotel and even took a nap there before taking a tramp back to Tel Aviv. Yeah we were really lucky to get one directly to our flat. We felt really relaxed and rested after this trip but also tired of the heat. The next day I visited a good friend at the cafe he is working at to have breakfastbefore taking a swim at the wavy sea and catching the bus to the regular hebrew lesson i attend before work on thursdays. I had a quite hard shift afterwards because the werent enough workers and the athmosphere was stressed but f in the night I visited my friend and we had a pleasant knocking off. I had a few beautiful days with my favorite flatmate Lea who left in the end but we did the best out of her last week. On Sunday we met up in Tel Aviv for a light business lunch for a fair price at one of my favorite cafes on the Nahalat Binyamin street called "The Prince". We ate the so called Vegan Jerusalem Mix out of many vegetables, tofu and the Israeli dips such as humus and thina and drank a wine with it. Afterwards we went to the Charles Clore Park to do some Yoga and Meditation in the Sunset with the wonderful Kelly who does it for free before she finds a fixed job here so we brought some fruits to thank her. After the sun dived into the wavy sea we went to my friends place to take a shower and bought a wine and just relaxed before we went to the only party I'm loyal to, the blues and booz. It was a special night, we had a lot of fun and met many new people. On Monday evening we had a nice goodbye party in our flat with all the volunteers where we made sushi on our own. The last day of Lea was a perfect one: we did a one day trip to
Zfat, a city in the north above the
Sea of Genazareth. It's a beautiful city with lots of artistic galleries and synagogues and beautiful views down the
mountains and a much cooler climate than in the Centre of Israel such as Tel Aviv.
Huddled on top of Israel's third-highest peak, the citz is an evocative mountain town with a rich heritage of Jewish mzsticism, a rambling artists' quarter and magical views. The oblique labyrinth of cobbled streets is lined with medieval synagogues and crumbling stone houses punctuated by turquoise doorways and heavy
hamsas (a hand-shaped amulet featuring the evil eye).
It is an idyllic and devout place with a slighly behemian atmosphere, where Hasidic Jews and New Age spiritualists blend Kabbalistic traditionand messianic enthusiasm. In an age where
Kabbalah has been made popular by the rich and famous, religios tourists are now big business in Tsfat.
